Use a short blade chain saw to trim small limbs, and an electric chain saw would be a good choice. If the jobs call for cutting large limbs or trees, a good choice would be a gas chain saw. If jobs of limb trimming is easier cut from the ground, it would be a good choice to use a pole chain saw.

Chain Saw Safety must be kept in mind.Chain Saw safety includes protective eyewear, earplugs, and appropriate clothing, and footwear. Remove debris from the area to prevent potential hazardous conditions and falls. Keep hands and feet away from the Chain Saw blades, and always have control of chain saws. Never climb with the Chain Saw while it is in gear. If you must climb, be certain you are well anchored before starting the Chain Saw. It is a good idea to attach a rope to the Chain Saw, climb to a stable location in the tree, anchor yourself securely, then pull the Chain Saw up and carefully crank the Chain Saw.

Azalea Bark Scale

Yardiac.com Open Blog Azalea Bark Scale Posted: 12 Mar 2008 01:23 PM CDT Female Azalea Bark Scale are approximately 1/8-inch long and covered with a white, waxy egg sac. Eggs are laid in the spring and hatch from late-June to mid-July. These mobile immatures are known as "crawlers". The crawlers like to attach to the bark and feed in crevices and branch forks. This pest overwinters as a nymph (immature). Scales insert their piercing-sucking mouth parts into the plant and feed on the juices. A large population will cause leaf discoloration, some die back and an overall unthrifty plant appearance. These scales excrete a sticky, sweet liquid called "honeydew" which promotes the growth of black sooty mold fungus on contaminated surfaces. Beneficial insects often control this pest. When the scales become noticeable, treat with Bayer Advanced AC&R, for effective control.
